On this tour, your local guide will pick you up at your place of accommodation in Rapa, and from there you will go to discover: Vaihu (the interactive aldea), Akahanga Temple where according to the oral tradition, the first “Ariki” (king) if the island was buried. There, you will see the big platform 18 meters long with 13 moais collapsed after the internal wars that existed between the island’s tribes. After visiting you will have a better idea of the main features of this culture and how they used to interact in the past. In Akahanga you will also see an old town with some “Hare paenga” (boat houses) and “umu pae” (stone ovens). Afterward, you will visit the Rano Raraku volcano which for hundreds of years, serves as a quarry for carving out the Moais. The ahu vinapu and the beautiful and iconic beach named Ovahe.
